PVVFD members,
Over the last couple of years, several of our members have added to their families.
For many years, the PVVFD has hosted events for our membership and their families that have brought fellowship and fun to our organization. We hope to bring some of these activities back in the future, starting with this announcement.
On December 9th, the PVVFD will host a Santa Brunch at our Station 1. This event IS NOT open to the public and will only be for PVVFD members and their families. Santa Claus himself will be on site for your little ones to take pictures, share their Christmas wish list, etc.
We understand weekends are special, as many kids and parents on love those couple of days to rest and recoup. We understand you don't want to get up early or feel rushed on your day off, especially when trying to get the kiddos ready. Our event will run from 10-12, so you can still do some afternoon Christmas shopping or squeeze in that nap. We plan to serve pancakes, eggs, sausage, while also offering a few beverage choices. We will also have a Hot Chocolate and Coffee bar, where adults and children can add their own personal touch to their favorite warm drink.
Again, this is all about you and yours...in an effort to get you Santa access without fighting the crowds, show your families they are welcome at the firehouse and let them meet who you work with, and to bring that "family" vibe into the firehouse.
The only Santa Claus I knew was a NFD firefighter, who worked as St. Nick on the side at Cain Sloan on Church Street in Downtown. This was about the time the malls were starting to open in Nashville, so I didn't have many people to contend with. I was amazed that Santa Claus knew my parents and called me by name. He called my Dad "Capt." and knew the station and apparatus he worked on. He knew where I went to school, the sports I played, and what grade I was in. Santa Claus knew me.....it was incredible! The same person each year heard my wishes, Took the picture that became an annual Christmas ornament, encouraged better grades and behavior, and made me feel like the only kid in the world. The year I found out the "truth" about Santa Claus....Mr. Davenport got cancer and passed away. He was my Santa until the end, and the fire department connection is what brought that specialness to life.
If you plan on attending, please let Ms. Amy or myself know your number of attendees, so we can make sure we get all the supplies that are needed.
I hope we can create some special memories for you and yours with this event, while also showing our appreciation to you and your families for the service you provide to our organization.
